Day 1: Bagdogra / NJP → Phuentsholing → Thimphu

(Drive: approx. 170–175 km | 5–6 hours)

Morning: Arrive at Bagdogra / NJP meet your driver and start the road journey toward the Indo-Bhutan border town of Jaigaon. Here you will be received by our team member along with yourtour guide and walk across into Phuentsholing (Bhutan) through the Pedestrian Terminal.
Permit: Complete immigration and permit formalities at the Immigration & Permit Office inPhuentsholing.
● Depart for Thimphu after permit. The drive winds through the foothills along the Toorsa River,passing through Gedu, Chukha, and Chuzom (the confluence point of the Thimphu and Paro rivers).
En route stop: Eight Dharma Kaya Stupas – Take a short stop at this religious site located in Gedu.
Lunch: At Jaigaon / Phuentsholing (own account).
● Arrive in Thimphu by late afternoon. Check in to hotel.
Evening: Leisure stroll at evening.
● Overnight in Thimphu.

Meals: Dinner at Hotel.

Tip: Keep your Passport/ Voter ID handy for Entry/Permit. This border town buzzes with cross-border trade— it's your gentle introduction from Indian chaos to Bhutanese calm

Full day sightseeing in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan:

Buddha Dordenma Statue – giant Buddha statue overlooking the Thimphu valley, offeringpanoramic views.
National Memorial Chorten – a stupa built in memory of the Third King, a hub of dailyprayer and devotion for locals.
Folk Heritage Museum – traditional Bhutanese rural life and artefacts.
Motithang Takin Preserve (Mini Zoo) – Home to Bhutan's national animalo Simply Bhutan – living museum of Bhutan.
Handicraft Bazaar – handicrafts, weaving, cultural displays.
Optional: Tashichho Dzong – seat of the government and the Central Monastic Body (visitlate afternoon after office hours).

Afternoon: Drive to Paro (short scenic drive along the river valley).
Evening: At leisure in Paro town; optional visit to local market by self.
Overnight: Paro.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner at Hotel.

The highlight of the trip:

Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest): Early breakfast, then drive to the base point for the hike to—Bhutan's most iconic monastery, perched on a cliff at approx. 3,120m. Round trip hike: approx. 5–6hours (can be done on foot or partly on horseback/mule up to the cafeteria point).
Lunch: At the cafeteria viewpoint (on the way down) or back in town, depending on timing (ownaccount).
Afternoon (if time permits/ energy allows): Visit other Paro attractions.
Rinpung Dzong – a well-preserved fortress-monastery overlooking Paro town.
Ta Dzong (National Museum) – housed in a former watchtower, showcasing Bhutanese art,history, and culture.
Nya Mey Zam Bridge and a walk through Paro town.

Evening: Optional hot stone bath to relax.
Overnight: Paro.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner at Hotel.

Note: The Tiger's Nest hike is moderately strenuous. Offer horses/mules as an option for guests withmobility concerns, and always check weather conditions in advance.

(Drive: approx. 165–170 km | 5–6 hours)

Morning: Early breakfast and check-out from the hotel.
Depart: for Phuentsholing, retracing the scenic route via Chuzom, Chukha, and Gedu.

Lunch: Stop for lunch en route at Wangkha or Jaigaon (own account).
Exit: Arrive Phuentsholing by afternoon; complete the exit at the Pedestrian Terminal and drop-offat Jaigaon Indo –Bhutan border at the onward transport point. Then depart for Bagdogra / NJP.
Tour concludes.
