Day 1: Bagdogra Airport → Phuentsholing

(Drive: approx. 170–175 km | 5–6 hours)

Morning: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB). Meet your driver and start the road journey toward the Indo-Bhutan border town of Jaigaon.
En route: Drive through the Dooars region — tea gardens, forests, and small Bengal/Ass towns.
Lunch: Stop for lunch on the way own account).
Border crossing: On reaching Jaigaon (Indo – Bhutan Border) you will be accompanied by our teammember and walk across into Phuentsholing (Bhutan) through the Pedestrian Terminal.
Evening: Check into your hotel in Phuentsholing.
Overnight: Phuentsholing.

Meals: Dinner at Hotel.

Tip: Keep your Passport/ Voter ID handy for Entry. This border town buzzes with cross-border trade — it'syour gentle introduction from Indian chaos to Bhutanese calm.

(Drive: approx. 170–175 km | 5–6 hours)

Morning: After breakfast, check-out from the hotel. Here you will be received by your tour guideand driver at the hotel, then you will proceed to Immigration office.
Permit: Complete Permit formalities at the Department of Immigration office (carry the requireddocuments your agent has mentioned).
● Depart for Thimphu after permit. The drive winds through the foothills along the Toorsa River,passing through Gedu, Chukha, and Chuzom (the confluence point of the Thimphu and Paro rivers).
En route stop: Eight Dharma Kaya Stupas – Take a short stop at this religious site located inGedu.
Lunch: At Gedu/ Wangkha (own account).
Optional stop: Kharbandi Monastery (near Phuentsholing) if not covered earlier, or a coffee breakat Gedu.
● Arrival in Thimphu by afternoon. Check into your hotel.
Evening: Leisure stroll at evening.
Overnight: Thimphu.

Meals: Dinner at Hotel.

(Drive: approx. 75 km | 2.5–3 hrs each way)

Dochula Pass: Early morning drive to Punakha over Dochula Pass (3,100m) — stop for views of theHimalayan range and the 108 chortens (Druk Wangyal Chortens).
Punakha Dzong — most beautiful fortress in Bhutan, at the confluence of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhurivers.
Punakha Suspension Bridge: Walk across the suspension bridge over Pho Chhu River.
Optional: Short hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple), a pleasant walk through rice fields.
Lunch: At Punakha (own account).
● Drive back to Thimphu by evening.
Overnight: Thimphu.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner at Hotel.

(Drive: approx. 55 km | 1.5 hrs)

Thimphu Sightseeing (half day):

● Buddha Dordenma Statue: giant Buddha statue overlooking the Thimphu valley fromKuenselphodrang hill — offering panoramic views.
● National Memorial Chorten: a stupa built in memory of the Third King, a hub of dailyprayer and devotion for locals.
● Motithang Takin Preserve (Mini Zoo) – Bhutan's national animal
● Simply Bhutan – living museum of Bhutan.
● Handicraft Bazaar – handicrafts, weaving, cultural displays.
Lunch: at Thimphu (own account).
Afternoon: Drive to Paro via Chuzom confluence.
Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong ("fortress on a heap of jewels") and Nya Meh Zam Bridge (the adjoiningtraditional cantilever bridge.
Evening: Explore Paro town, local shops/cafes.
Overnight: Paro.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner at Hotel.

Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest): Early breakfast, then drive to the base point for the hike to Bhutan's most iconic monastery, perched on a cliff at approx. 3,120m. Round trip hike: approx. 5–6hours (can be done on foot or partly on horseback/mule up to the cafeteria point).
Lunch: At the cafeteria viewpoint (on the way down) or back in Paro town, depending on timing(own account).
Afternoon (if time permits/ if energy allows): Visit other Paro attractions 
● Ta Dzong (National Museum) – housed in a former watchtower, showcasing Bhutanese art,history, and culture.
● Or simply relax — a hot stone bath in Paro is a wonderful way to soothe hiking muscles(can be arranged at farmhouses).

● Evening: At leisure in Paro town.
● Overnight: Paro.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner at Hotel.

Tips for the hike: Wear sturdy shoes, carry water and light snacks, dress in layers, and carry cashfor the cafeteria/tea stops. Start early — mornings tend to be clearer for photos.

● Morning: Early breakfast and check-out from the hotel.
● Depart for Phuentsholing, retracing the scenic route via Chuzom, Chukha, and Gedu.
Lunch: Stop for lunch en route at Wangkha or Jaigaon (own account).
Exit: Arrive Phuentsholing by afternoon; complete the exit at the Pedestrian Terminal and drop-offat Jaigaon Indo –Bhutan border at the onward transport point. Then depart for Hasimara station.

Tour concludes.
